IAAO is a nonprofit, educational, and research association. It is a professional membership organization of government assessment officials and others interested in the administration of the property tax. IAAO was founded in 1934, and now has a membership of more than 7,000 members worldwide (as of 2015, 7,296 members representing 27 countries) from governmental, business, and academic communities.
IAAO has offered 280 courses, workshops, and one-day forums where more than 5,900 students participated and 600 students took online education offerings in 2015. It also provides resources for members, researchers, policy makers, taxing jurisdictions, and the media: research library, publications, and consulting services. IAAO technical standards provide guidance and consensus on a variety of topics relevant to the assessing industry. Many IAAO standards have been incorporated into legislation in the United States.
KAB is an IAAO affiliate (organizational member) and actively involved in order to accomplish the vision of IAAO. KAB real estate research institute has provided educational talks in the annual international conference introducing current status and future innovation of Korean appraisal systems. We effectively disseminate contemporary and professional knowledge of international property appraisal practices by translating such important IAAO publications as IAAO Technical Standards and Glossary for Property Appraisal and Assessment.
